The Bored Ape Yacht club before it blew up another 100% – source
The Opensea screenshot above is a nostalgic look back at Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs before they yet again doubled in floor price from late 2021 to now in April 2022.
Today in April 2022 the BAYC floor price is over 110 ETH (over $350,000). Even back then at over 50 ETH people though Bored Ape NFTs had ‘topped’ and wouldn’t go up in 2022.
Yet they did – their floor price (the lowest price it’s possible to buy a Bored Ape for) ended 2021 at around 60 ETH and almost doubled to an all-time high of 118 ETH in February 2022.
Despite their high prices there isn’t one Bored Ape in the top 10 most expensive NFTs sold in history – most of that list is made up of CryptoPunks. There seems to be no price ceiling with NFTs.
The first price of Bored Ape NFTs was 0.08 ETH – that’s how much it cost to mint one at presale in April 2021. So anyone still holding having bought one of the 10,000 in the collection back then on day one are up have seen an almost 150,000% return on investment (ROI) – a 1500x gain in value.
But what’s the next Bored Ape Yacht Club? That’s like asking what is the next Bitcoin and is hard to say. A better question would be what is the next NFT to blow up? You can still make life changing money and get rich being early on the right project, even if it doesn’t become the #1 rated non-fungible token in future years.
