Wednesday afternoon, Sedalia Police spoke with Brian Altis at the Police Headquarters in reference to Identity Theft. Altis stated he received eleven forms, IRS 1099-K, from a company in California. Altis stated he has never worked for the company, or has he done business with them.
Sedalia Police observed a black Chevrolet passenger car on Wednesday afternoon. Upon further investigation, Officers located a warrant for a male associated with the vehicle. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle at South Missouri Avenue and West Magnolia Street. The suspect’s information was ran through Communications. Communications confirmed the warrant by hard copy a short time later. Jordy D. Salazar, 19, of Sedalia, was arrested for his Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Possession of Marijuana and Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle. Salazar was transported to the Pettis County Jail with a bond of $504.50 cash only.
Wednesday night, Officers were dispatched to the intersection of North Limit Avenue and Eagleview Drive in reference to a vehicle theft. The victim stated that her vehicle was left abandoned near the intersection on Monday. When she came to retrieve her vehicle, was gone. It was later discovered that the vehicle had been towed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Sedalia Police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of West 11th Street and South Grand Avenue for a defective headlight Wednesday night. The driver consented to a search of their person. Suspected methamphetamine was found in their pocket. Troy J. Harms, 40, of Sedalia, was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Harms was placed on a 24 hour hold.
