Have you ever noticed that some altcoins are hot one month and then cold not long after? A lot of the price action on altcoins is based on media buzz, not a projection of future revenue like stocks.
For example, Optimism (OP), is a layer-2 network designed to make Ethereum transactions cheaper and faster. OP has been a favorite of crypto traders — until recently. It’s aimed at gaming and entertainment mostly. Trader interest in ENJ waxes and wanes. It plummeted almost 90% since March but then rose by 75% to just under 70 cents. However, in the months following the initial coin offering, the price of ENJ saw a staggering 6,000% gain (60X).
The point is, while these two crypto assets aren’t at the top of traders’ lists right now, if you had gotten in on the initial coin offering, you could have made a killing in a very short time.
