On Saturday 30th April 2022, many cryptocurrencies faced issues due to high traffic on their sites.
With a significant number of people trying to purchase tokens from various cryptocurrencies, Solana (SOL) and Ethereum (ETH) were two of the major ones to suffer from high volume issues. Resulting in a loss of value, it may be a better option to consider investing in the Mushe (XMU) pre-sale for better advantages.
Solana (SOL)
Usually, Solana (SOL) processes an average of 2,700 transactions per second, however on April 30th, they were flooded with millions of transactions each second. Due to this high volume of traffic, Solana was unable to process the high demand which resulted in their site being offline for 7 hours. This meant that no blocks were being produced during this time and their entire system had to be restarted.
SOL is currently down by 0.81% with its current price of $86.75, at the time of writing. SOL is usually known for its short processing times as its hybrid protocol allows for a significantly decreased validation time. However, the impact Solana showed on Saturday was very impactful and suggests that it is not ready for the mainstream public at this time.
Ethereum (ETH)
Ethereum (ETH) is the second-largest cryptocurrency, yet also suffered from high traffic on Saturday, resulting in extremely high gas prices. ETH did not suffer to the extremity as Solana, however, the large amount of volume led to their prices rising significantly.
ETH charges gas fees for every transaction on the blockchain. This is to compensate Ethereum miners for verifying transactions, however, the fees tend to rise and fall based on how many transactions are being made on the blockchain at the given time. If there is a large number of transactions being made at a current moment, as they were on Saturday, the gas price would rise.
If a user does not pay enough in gas fees, their entire transaction can fail, which is what was happening on Saturday. With a mix of failed…
